Beth Fritz-Logrea
Artistic Director Emerita
Beth Fritz-Logrea served as the Co-Artistic Director of Westchester Ballet Company from 1986 to 2024. In recognition of her remarkable leadership and dedication to the Company for nearly four decades, she has been named Artistic Director Emerita. As a celebration of her years of service, she will return to direct her final production of The Nutcracker in 2025 in this honorary role.
She is also the co-owner and director of Logrea Dance Academy. Fritz-Logrea was a protégée of famed ballerina Dame Alicia Markova. She received her early training in Memphis, Tennessee, with Charles Kirby and Manola Agullo. At the age of sixteen she joined the Metropolitan Opera Ballet in New York City and continued her career as principal dancer with Ballet Etudes Repertory Company, Connecticut, St. Gallen Stadt Theatre, Switzerland, and Opernhaus Graz, Austria. She toured extensively in Europe, dancing leading roles in such ballets as Giselle, Swan Lake, Coppélia, Romeo and Juliet and Pas de Quatre. Beth performed the role of the Sugarplum Fairy in the Company’s production of The Nutcracker until 1992.
Jean Logrea
Artistic Director Emeritus
Jean Logrea devoted nearly four decades to shaping the artistic vision of Westchester Ballet Company, having led as Co-Artistic Director from 1986 until 2024. In honor of his enduring commitment and artistic excellence, he now holds the title of Artistic Director Emeritus. As a tribute to his legacy, Jean will return in 2025 to stage one final production of The Nutcracker, a ballet that has long been at the heart of his WBC journey.
Logrea was trained from an early age at the Scoala Speciala in Cluj, Romania, in classical ballet, character, and folk dance. He was principal dancer at the Opera House Cluj, as well as a teacher at its affiliated school. He toured extensively throughout Europe and the former Soviet Union, dancing such major roles as Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, the Jester in Swan Lake, the Pas de Deux from Le Corsaire, the Peasant Pas de Deux from Giselle and The Rocker in The Miraculous Mandarin. After seven years as principal dancer at Opernhaus Graz, Austria, he moved to the United States in 1986 to serve as co-artistic director of the Westchester Ballet Company. That same year he opened Logrea Dance Academy with Beth Fritz-Logrea. Jean performed the role of the Cavalier in the Company’s Nutcracker until 1992 and continues to appear as Uncle Drosselmeyer.
Nick Logrea
Associate Artistic Director Emeritus
Nick Logrea has been an integral part of the Westchester Ballet Company for more than three decades. After years of dedication both on stage and behind the scenes, he now holds the honorary title of Associate Artistic Director Emeritus.
Nick Logrea has been part of Westchester Ballet Company for over 30 years, known for his standout roles in The Nutcracker as The Butler, Mouse King, and Coffee from Arabia. He also danced soloist roles in ballets such as Les Patineurs, La Bayadère, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Tales of Vienna. As Associate Artistic Director, he helped preserve and pass on WBC’s repertoire. He continues to teach jazz as Associate Director at Logrea Dance Academy. Nick is also a Zumba Education Specialist, leading classes across the U.S. and abroad, and teaches regularly at LifeTime Fitness.
Sharyn Korey
Director Staging & Rehearsals
Sharyn is originally from Croton-on-Hudson, NY, and received her early training at Logrea Dance Academy. She performed with the Westchester Ballet Company for seven years before joining Richmond Ballet, where she performed in Serenade, Coppélia, Nutcracker, and original works. She earned a degree in International Studies from Middlebury College and then moved to Brooklyn to work as a freelance dancer. An ABT certified instructor, she currently teaches ballet at the Mark Morris Dance Center and is an adjunct instructor of dance at Hofstra University. She’s also the co-founder of NACHMO, a choreography festival open to everyone, and the director of Sunset Park Dance, a studio in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
Sabrina Gail Lobner Guest Choreographer
Sabrina joined Martha Graham Dance Company's second company, Graham 2 at the age of 18. She has since performed in Dior’s “Carousel of Dreams”, Carousel (Boston Lyric Opera, The Wick Theatre), Die Schweigsame Frau (Bard SummerScape), La Traviata (Seattle Opera, Lyric Opera of Kansas City), and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (The Wick Theatre). Sabrina choreographed her first evening-length work, If I Reach You, while attending Sarah Lawrence College. She was selected to present a new full-length work, Little Marble Kisses, at The Tank NYC. Additional choreographic credits include commissions for Westchester Ballet Company and Northwest Florida Ballet, contributing choreography for The Mechanicals Theater Co. in NYC, and premiering Drink Me in a festival she produced, Developments: Original Works by New York Choreographers.
