Westchester Ballet Company is honored to welcome Sebastian Vinet as adjudicator for the 2026 WBC Scholarship Auditions, to be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

Born in Santiago, Chile, Mr. Vinet began his training at the Escuela de Ballet del Teatro Municipal de Santiago on full scholarship. He later continued his studies at the Ben Stevenson Houston Ballet Academy before joining Houston Ballet in 2009 and, subsequently, San Francisco Ballet in 2010.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Vinet has performed principal and featured roles in works by renowned choreographers including Kenneth MacMillan, William Forsythe, Christopher Wheeldon, Helgi Tomasson, Stanton Welch, Mark Morris, Ben Stevenson, Demis Volpi, Val Caniparoli, and John Cranko. An internationally acclaimed principal guest artist, he has graced some of the world’s most iconic stages, including Madison Square Garden during a tour with Andrea Bocelli.

Mr. Vinet has appeared as a guest artist at prestigious galas and festivals across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Australia, and has served on the juries of international ballet competitions including the Prix de Lausanne (2020) and the Youth America Grand Prix. He himself was a Prix de Lausanne winner in 2009.

Westchester Ballet Company is delighted to welcome Mr. Vinet, whose artistry, global experience, and passion for dance will bring exceptional insight and inspiration to this year’s scholarship auditions.

Awardees commit to performing with Westchester Ballet Company for the 2026-27 season and can use their scholarship funds at the ballet school or program of their choosing.

2026 SPRING BALLET AUDITIONS

DATE: Sunday, January 11, 2026

LOCATION: 81 Croton Ave., 3rd Floor, Ossining, NY 10562
TIME: 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm, organized by age.

2:30 - 3:00 PM—Ages 6-7
3:00 - 3:30 pm—Ages 8 -10
4:00 - 4:45 pm—Ages 11 - 12
4:45 - 6:30 pm—Ages 13 - 18
Please be advised that dancers might be requested to attend a subsequent audition after their initial age-based session. We appreciate your flexibility in accommodating potential schedule adjustments on audition day.

Open to all dancers in the community, aged 6-18, no matter where they receive their ballet training. 

Production: A Fairytale Ballet—Peter and the Wolf & Cinderella
Rehearsals for this production will be held primarily on Sundays.

**2026 Performance dates**: Please hold Friday, May 1 (matinee); Saturday, May 2 (matinee and evening performance); Friday, May 15 (matinee); Saturday, May 16 (matinee and evening performance). Exact performance dates will be confimed soon. 

*Dancers may also be invited to perform in the Spring Gala on Wednesday, June 3.*

AUDITION ATTIRE
A simple black leotard and tights is recommended. Otherwise, dancers should audition in their regular class attire.

Dancers en pointe should bring both their ballet slippers and pointe shoes to the audition.

NUTCRACKER AUDITIONS

Westchester Ballet Company welcomes young dancers from a variety of dance backgrounds and schools across the region. Open auditions are typically held in September, January, and March. While participation in the Company’s performances requires payment of participation fees, financial assistance is available to ensure accessibility, and dancers can also compete for merit-based scholarships offered during the fall and spring seasons.
