We Are Nurturing Amazing Human Beings
The Westchester Ballet Company (WBC) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching our community through the art of ballet. Committed to excellence and accessibility, WBC eliminates barriers to participation and engagement in ballet by serving three key groups in and around Westchester County, NY:
- Young dancers (ages 6–18): Approximately 100 dancers annually receive specialized training and perform in professionally produced ballets for the general public.
- Schoolchildren: Approximately 100 students benefit from free or low-cost ballet classes through our after-school outreach programs.
- Audience members: Over 10,000 people each year enjoy our affordable and accessible ballet performances.
Our Mission in Action
- Removing financial obstacles through scholarships and financial aid for young dancers
- Keeping ticket prices affordable to ensure access to the arts
- Collaborating with local nonprofits to support children and families in need
How Your Support Makes a Difference
Donations to WBC directly fund our core programs:
- Scholarships and Financial Aid: Providing merit- and need-based assistance for dancers aged 6–18.
- Community Outreach Programs: Offering free ballet instruction and attire to children in underserved areas.
- Production Support: Maintaining and enhancing sets, costumes, and other essential production elements.
All other operational costs are covered through ticket sales, membership fees, and the dedication of unpaid volunteers.
Auditions Are Open to All
WBC holds biannual auditions open to all dancers ages 6–18, regardless of where they train. Acceptance is based on meeting the training standards required for the dancer’s assigned rank within the Company.
