Westchester Ballet Company is committed to making classical ballet accessible and welcoming to boys. Boys ages 3–18 are invited to participate in all Born to Move: Dance for Youth Wellbeing classes.

This Friday class provides a dedicated environment for boys ages 5 and older, whether they are completely new to ballet or already have previous dance experience. Students develop strength, coordination, flexibility, musicality, confidence, and athleticism while learning the foundations of classical ballet in a welcoming and encouraging environment.

Our goal is to inspire more boys to discover ballet while providing a strong technical foundation for future training opportunities.

Ballet in the schools.

WBC partners with the United Way of Westchester and Putnam to offer in-school, after-school ballet classes in Ossining, Sleepy Hollow, and Hartsdale.

In these supportive after-school classes, students of all backgrounds explore basic dance technique, stretching, and choreography—while also building confidence, healthy emotional expression, and core social-emotional skills like empathy and perseverance. Ballet promotes discipline and focus, but also creativity, collaboration, and a strong sense of belonging.

Enrollment has grown to more than 100 in three years. We’re eager to see how many new dancers will join us as the program continues to flourish.

If your child paticipates in an extneded day program at a particpating school, they are eligible to attend these ballet classes.

An international program, rooted in tradition and guided by artistic purpose, this summer intensive offers young dancers an immersive and disciplined experience designed to deepen technique, strengthen artistry, and cultivate personal growth. This is not simply a summer activity. It is an immersive classical training experience for dancers who are ready to challenge themselves, grow with purpose, and deepen their artistry.

At the same time, we believe meaningful training does not exclude joy. Dancers will build friendships, develop confidence, and experience personal growth within a supportive and inspiring community. The discipline of ballet will shape them — not only as artists, but as individuals.

For families seeking an alternative to commercial studios and summer dance camps, WBC offers something different: depth, structure, mentorship, and artistic integrity.
